Effectively, quick fixes do not cure anything, they simply mask the discomfort for a while but the real cause of the problem remains undiscovered and untreated.

Consequently, the same description can be applied to those of us wanting, trying and even desperate to lose weight. We go from one diet to the next, starve ourselves for half our lives and usually end up bigger than we were when we first started out as a result of yo yo dieting and sadly, even worse, many of us end up with serious eating disorders.

However, if we would stop and realise that these amazing bodies of ours (and yes your body is really amazing – think about it – for example, your heart beats without any conscious thought on your part)work as a single unit in every activity we involve ourselves with.

We may break an arm and our arm will heal with time however, we do not forget the accident or the pain associated with it.

Sure we do get over unhappy and painful events with time, love and care from our nearest and dearest but the memory remains and sometimes even turns out to provide us with a positive learning outcome. My point here is that when a living breathing human being is hurt or traumatised either physically or mentally, the entire being ie, the physical, spiritual and emotional/soul suffers.
