Ovarian-Prostate Healthcare - Crinum latifolium a Medicinal Herb Prized in Vietnam for its Healing PropertiesAs I have previously stated elsewhere on the Aloe Vera Guide, my mission is to raise general awareness not only about the health benefits of the aloe vera plant but also to highlight a range of other alternative remedies and natural herbal preparations by the use of which we can all improve our health and wellness. It is with this aim in mind therefore that upon discovering the details of a little known herb and and something of its history, that I felt the story should be included here. Ovarian prostate healthcare in the form of a little known herb called Crinum Latifolium is so highly regarded in Vietnam that at one time it was only available to the Royal family, being referred to on the one hand as the 'Royal Female Herb' and on the other as 'Medicine for the King's Palace'. It seems that this herb demonstrates an ability to target both ovarian and prostate health issues with encouraging results, for example in its recorded success in alleviating symptoms of the common male problem ie, enlarged prostate or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The International Hospital in Vietnam reports that 92.6 percent of their patients experienced positive improvement in BPH; prostate medically measured and evaluated by urologists,although Western research has not confirmed these studies. Despite more research on crinum being focused on male prostate health, one of the Royal Family's personal doctors, Dr Kha Hoang has studied this herb's application in regard to ovarian health. In fact, in the early 1980s his daughter was found to have so many cysts on her ovary that surgery was considered the only way to remove them. Dr Hoang however, made his daughter drink tea made from the leaves of the crinum herb and approximately six weeks later it was determined that her cysts had disappeared. The Hoang family are still medical practitioners today and have continued to use crinum along with other herbs to treat a wide range of ovarian-prostate-healthcare problems with much success. As a matter of fact in excess of a dozen cases of advanced prostate cancer showed up in biopsy results as being completely cured after treatment with this herb. It has also been noted that prostate specific antigen levels did go up in some men taking this herb but testing then confirmed that the prostate cells were health and normal and appears to shore up recent reports which calimed that the prostate specific antigen test might not be the best indicator for discerning the risk of prostate cancer. In direct contradiction however, we have the story of a man of 58 with a prostate specific antigen (PSA) level of 93 before he finally decided to go for treatment. Unsurprisingly, the cancer had already spread throughout his lymph nodes, bones, and intestines. He was put on an aggressive herbal treatment including crinum and after a period of only four months when tested, it was found that his PSA had dropped down to .9 and his difficulties with urinating, fatigue and swollen legs had all but disappeared. Despite all these positive results it is still unknown exactly why this herb has proven so effective. However, researchers believe it may be that it is the level at which it affects the body ie the cellular level, that is key.

The human body has somewhere in the region of 70 trillion cells, the cells are living entities, each with its own complete set of genes. These individual cells maintain their own existence while playing a pivotal role in the health of the human body. For the body to function properly it is therefore of utmost importance that the cells are able to communicate if the body is to continue to operate optimally. In other words the cells which make up the body constantly communicate with each other to keep everything in order. It is at this level that recent experiments have found that crinum extract assists the cells in producing a substance called neopterin, which is what the cells use for communicating with immune cells; alerting them to any foreign invaders entering the body, in order that they can provide resistance and protection from the threat. So established and widely used in Vietnam is crinum that it is forbidden to export this herb, so it is of course very difficult to get hold of it here in the west however, a good search of the internet should bring up some response.
