Here at the Aloe Vera Guide we thought it would be fun and useful to publish a few natural skin care recipes which can be easily made at home for our visitors to try.
Of course, aloe vera is my favourite natural skin care product, however, there are a number of other plants as well as fruit/vegetables which contain an abundance of nutrients that not only enhance our internal health but are also capable of providing our skin with real rejuvenation.
I sometimes believe that Mother Nature intended to enable us to improve our lives in as many ways as possible from the plants and fruits she laid out on the land; thus, she enriched them with wide and varied health giving properties that would be beneficial to our overall good health and happiness.
Accordingly, the following natural skin care recipes are not just refreshing to the skin but actively provide wholesome and healthy results which will make your skin feel clean, smooth and rejuvenated. Pick the natural skin care recipe you feel best suited to your needs, follow the instructions and prepare yourself for some luxurious pampering at the hands of Mother Nature.
Natural Skin Care Recipes

Lightening Cucumber Lotion for Face and Neck
Best as skin whitener, cucumber lotion is applied on the face and neck. Let it stand for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Ingredients Required:
1 tablespoon of cucumber juice
1 tablespoon of milk
A couple of drops of rosewater
Procedure:
Crush one piece of peeled cucumber to get a tablespoon of juice. Then, mix the cucumber juice with 1 tablespoon of milk. Add a few drops of rosewater. Mix until the ingredients blend together.
Tomato Facial Lotion
This lotion will tighten big pores. Gently massage on the face, then, wash off after 15 minutes.
Ingredients Required:
1 tablespoon of tomato juice
The juice of half a lime.
Procedure:
Crush one tomato to extract 1 tablespoon of juice. Add the lime juice. Mix the ingredients well.
Cabbage Face Mask
This will help to prevent wrinkles and make your skin supple and fresh-looking. Pat over the face and neck. After 15 minutes, remove with wet cotton wool.
Ingredients Required:
Cabbage leaves
1 teaspoon honey
¼ teaspoon yeast
Procedure:
Place the cabbage in a juicer or extract juice by grinding the leaves. Dissolve a quarter teaspoon of yeast in one teaspoon of honey, then add the cabbage juice and combine the mixture well. (The yeast can in the first instance be dissolved in a small amount of warm water then added to the honey for easier mixing).
Peach Face Mask
Works to tighten pores, peach mask should be gently applied on the face. After 30 minutes, rinse off with cool water.
Ingredients Required:
1 ripe peach
1 egg white
Peel and pit the peach, add to blender along with the egg white. Blend until the contents are smooth. Apply to face.
A Honey Facial
This facial refreshes the face and leaves it radiant-looking. Once applied leave on for 15 minutes for best results, then rinse off with tepid water and gently pat skin dry.
Ingredients Required:
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 egg yolk
Procedure:
Beat the egg yolk, add olive oil and continue to beat. As soon as the two ingredients are well blended, add the honey and stir until mixture is thoroughly combined.
Lime Juice Facial
This combination works well in reducing the development of pimples. For best results apply every night for as long as the problem persists. The lime juice facial leaves the skin feeling clean, fresh and helps in healing the affected spots. It can also work to soften hands and feet.
Ingredients Required:
Juice of one lime
One glass of whole milk
One teaspoon of glycerin
Procedure:
Gently bright the milk to the boil, then, add, the lime juice and 1 teaspoon of glycerin. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, leave the mixture to stand and cool for 30 minutes, then, apply, to the face.
Natural Skin Care Recipes
Apple Tonic Skin Care
Works to reduce oily skin, apple tonic must be patted over the face and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then, rinse away with warm water.
Ingredients Required:
1 tablespoon apple juice
¼ teaspoon lime juice
Chop an apple and grind to extract 1 tablespoon of juice. Combine the apple juice with ¼ teaspoon of lime juice. Stir until the ingredients blend together.
