How The Use Of Aloe Vera Products Improved My Health and How It Can Help You Too!
Hi, I'm Anne and I'd like to welcome you the Aloe Vera Guide! Here you will learn everything about this wonderful plant and how it benefits both beauty and health.
Growing up on the Caribbean island of Trinidad brought me into contact with the plant quite early in life.
I am very fair skinned and I can remember my Mother breaking off a leaf and rubbing it on my skin on occasions when I got too much sun as a result of playing on the beach.
All those years ago, people were not so aware of the damage that the sun could do to the skin, so it was not unusual for me to play out on the beach for hours on end resulting in very sore shoulders, back and legs. The stinging from the sunburn would disappear within moments of applying the aloe vera. It was also used on insect bites, burns, boils or any minor skin abrasions with great success.
The aloe vera plant is very versatile.
It is well known as an oral remedy for digestive complaints. As I use it now to soothe my digestive system, I have to say that I prefer to have it out of a bottle, after it has been commercially prepared, than to take it in the manner that my Mother and Aunts used to do.
They had a method of boiling it and drinking the boiled liquid, which although it worked well, tasted awful. I was therefore, really pleased to find that it can now be found in a concentrate form which is mixed in cold water and tastes delicious.
I suffer from an on-going chronic digestive problem which causes me terrible abdominal pain if I eat or drink anything that my system takes a dislike to.
Over the last few years, I have tried all sorts of preparations, some prescribed my doctor, or over the counter remedies but none of them worked.
I then remembered the plant and how my Mother used to use it all those years ago. I decided I would have to find a way to get hold of a plant, which I did and got all the information from my Mother on how to go about using it.
Then one day I was talking to a friend of mine about my problems and what I was planning to do when she advised me that I could in fact, buy aloe vera in a prepared concentrate form.
I followed her advice and I have not looked back.
The moment I feel any symptoms of my problem arising, I take some of the concentrate in water and the symptoms go away again.
Due to the great result I had using the concentrate for my digestive problems, I started purchasing the shampoo, conditioner and hair spray and found I got fantastic results with those as well.
So now my bathroom cabinet is full with all things aloe vera, including shower gel, soap, gel, hand and body lotion and a handy aloe spray which I use for any little bites or stings I get.
My daughter is also a dedicated fan of the plant, as she suffered from acne during her teens and would use the drink for 3 to 5 days towards the end of her cycle and found that by the end of the week her skin was completely clear.
The gel is also good for acne problems, as it can be applied straight on to the affected area where its soothing properties can help to alleviate inflammation and infection.
