Vitamin E – Studies undertaken in the late 1940s suggested this could help to relieve hot flushes as well as post-menopausal vaginal dryness.

Soy (Glycine max) (Seed) – Due to soy containing natural plant estrogens, known as phytoestrogens, which although weaker than human estrogen, does behave similarly within the human body and as a result can assist in balancing a woman’s estrogen level by attaching themselves to estrogen receptor sites within the body. However, it is indicated to be helpful in relieving stress and promotes relaxation in those suffering from anxiety. It is therefore, suggested that anyone suffering from sexual problems as a result of stress will benefit from the us of this herb, thus for those women experiencing stressful menopausal symptoms, this herbal preparation would promote relaxation and reduce the any feelings of anxiety, woman may be experiencing at this difficult time in their lives.

There are other herbal preparations which can also be used and I know that Red Clover and Wild Yam are two that worked very well for friends of mine with no bad side effects or problems.

It seems the drug companies would have us believe that herbal preparations are not proven and could even be dangerous however this is abject nonsense arising from the fact that there is no money for the drug companies to make, if everyone uses simple herbal remedies.

Being a cancer survivor myself, I am not allowed to use HRT and I am very glad that that is the case in the light of the recent findings on HRT and its potential to do real harm.
