Herbal Flu Preparation - A Fight back Cocktail to Kick the Bugs Out!

I have my own herbal flu preparation, the recipe for which I included on this page for anyone who might like to try it out. I start using this remedy as soon as I get the first flu or cold like symptoms and I have found that it definitely assists in reducing the usual aches, pains, fever and headache, that usually accompany colds and flu.

However, please do not look on this as a cure all as for more serious episodes of full blown flu, it is probably best to see a doctor as there are many complications that can set in, for example bronchial pneumonia. As stated above, this is an herbal flu preparation, which is best used at the onset of any symptoms as opposed to a cure.

Herbal Flu Preparation ingredients

3 drops of cat's claw tincture

3 drops of Echinacea tincture

3 drops goldenseal tincture

1 to 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped

Juice of half a lemon

Pinch of cayenne

6ozs of tomato juice

Once you have all the ingredients pop them into a blender. Take this drink twice a day for as long as you are feeling under the weather. Although the drink does not taste great, it usually works quite quickly so you should not need to continue taking it for too long.

For those interested I have listed below the benefits derived from the herbal flu preparation ingredients individually:

Cat's Claw - Alternative practitioners and herbalists have long been aware of the powerful immune boosting qualities of this herb. For hundreds of years the indigenous peoples of the Andes have used it and continue to do so to this day.

Echinacea - Very widely known for its use against respiratory infections as it stimulates the production of white blood cells boosting the immune system which fights the virus.

Goldenseal - Soothes the respiratory tract thus helping to eliminate coughs and sore throats.

Garlic - One of nature's most potent antiviral plants; booster for the immune system.

Lemon - Lemon juice is good for the liver. When the body is sick, the liver works hard to clear toxins from the body. Lemon juice helps to clean the liver so that it can eliminate toxins more effectively.

Cayenne - Helps to improve blood circulation and thins out mucus.

There are many herbal preparations to be found that are useful in combatting colds and flu but this is the one that I recommend as it is the only one of which I have experience.

If you do have a heavy cold or the flu make sure you stay well hydrated, drink lots of water and liquids. Ginger tea is also a good weapon in the fight against colds and flu, as it can help in stimulating blood flow through your muscles and around your body, which will eliminate aches and chills and encourages your immune cells to circulate more effectively.

On a final note, I would just like to thank you for visiting the Aloe Vera Guide and we hope you will visit again soon.
