Aloe Vera and Algae - Sun Chlorella A - Award Winning Nutrient Stacked Weapon to Fight Metabolic Syndrome!
Aloe Vera and Algae – What a combination but a good one in regards to health and wellness.
I have already written much on the subject of the benefits of aloe vera but what about Chlorella or more precisely what is it? Well for several years Chlorella – A single cell green algae has been a popular supplement and its health benefits, which include immune system activation and the prevention of ulcers resulting from stress, have been supported by various scientific studies. Now however, clinical trials undertaken, in Japan have established that Chlorella has an amazing ability to protect human health at the gene level.
As a result there is now available a new patented product called Sun Chlorella. This product has been produced by pulverising the cell walls of the Chlorella in order to access the nutrients which are locked inside the cell and would otherwise be inaccessible. This method allows the body to absorb the nutrients more efficiently, thus providing the body with an astonishing range and quantity of nutrients. Chlorella contains about 60 percent pure plant protein and therefore a daily intake of it will ensure that all essential amino acids, vitamins B12, B6, vitamin A, vitamin D, iron, folic acid and fibre are all included therein.

To take in as much iron as is contained in one dose of Chlorella, one would have to eat approximately 270g of spinach. To highlight the esteem in which this supplement is held, Chlorella Sunshine A was awarded ‘most beneficial product’ by the Institute for Optimum Nutrition awards in London, April 2009.
The clinical trials carried out by the Japanese was targeted at a new field of research known as nutrigenomics; this particular field of research considers the relationships between the response of genes to nutrition, thereby providing an explanation of just how subtle changes of nutrition can impact on human health.
Participants in the test were divided into two groups the first consisting of all subjects who had abnormally high blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels (blood fat) combined with low glucose tolerance. The other group was the control group and their levels of cholesterol and triglyceride were within normal ranges.
The symptoms described above for the first group are typical of the condition referred to as metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X, which is known to increase the development of Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the body.
For a period of 12 weeks both groups were given 20 Sun Chlorella tablets twice daily. Before the trial began blood tests were done then done again at 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks. The results of these tests revealed that the Chlorella had had the effect of reducing fat absorption by the body as well as blood cholesterol levels. In short the out come of this study showed Chlorella Sun A effectively reduced cholesterol, blood fat levels and improved the blood sugar levels of the participating subjects.
Another study had also previously been undertaken in the US at the Virginia Medical College, this one measured the effect Chlorella Sun A had on participants with mild to moderate high blood pressure (hypertension). The subjects were given 50 Sun Chlorella tablets plus Sun Chlorella Wakasa Gold 100ml each day for two months. The subjects had also had their normal blood pressure medication stopped for a month before the start of this study. At the end of the two month period the results showed that for 75 percent of the group, improvements in their blood pressure measurements were quite small, however, the other 25 percent of the group found that they had in fact attained their goal of a blood pressure reading of 90 or less. Researchers could not explain the variation between the groups in regard to this difference of outcome in blood pressure readings but assumed that it could have been as a consequence of people’s responses to having stopped their normal blood pressure medication.
In conclusion therefore this supplement Chlorella Sun A is an effective method of reducing cholesterol while assisting in the prevention of absorption of fat by the body the two major symptoms of Syndrome X and Type 2 diabetes and in some cases could well help reduce hypertension. Not bad for a little single cell green algae is it? Definitely a supplement everyone should consider adding to their regular health routine.
